Upcycled Cross Body Purse

I decided to go with earth tones for the color palette. Instead of purchasing fabric, I upcycled a pair of draw string khaki pants that would have otherwise been donated.
I cut off a square from one of the pant legs.
I decided to use the thick striped sash trim on the bottom of the bag and then added brown fringe to the very bottom of the bag. I pinned everything down.
I sewed everything down.
I decided that the leather applique flowers would be fun to use on the surface of the bag. I added gold studs to the middle of the flowers.
With my darning foot, I sewed the flowers down with free motion stitching to add texture.
I flipped the purse inside out and sewed the sides together.
I used the draw string from the pants as a strap and sewed it to each side of the bag.
And there you have it a simple and fun bag!
